St.Georges skatepark

I believe if you don't like the way something is going, rather than complain or fight you simply be the change. ya wanna see. So when my local skatepark was in a run down state and being threatned with flattening to make way for a car park i made it my mission to help restore her to her 1983 glory. But it was gonna be a bigger project than i realised. So In 2002 it looked like the skatepark was going to be flattened but after some meetings and words with the council educating them on the social importance of this epic skateaprk they eventually appreciated the importance of the place. And in 2003 after a bit of work the park was resurfaced and the bowls got a facelift. And Body English put on the very first st george jam to celebrate that year! And in 2005 after much hard fundraising work i raised £30,000 to finally get some much neeed new concrete ramps - but they wereworth the wait - a new quarter, flatbank, real volcano, grind blocks and a 14ft VERT WALL YO!!! Also we have built a wooden new spine ramp at the skatepark every year for the jam and this year we built the niggest and widest spine ramp yet!!!! Now we are inviting everyone that uses St.Georges skatepark to all start fundraising for more ramps and repairs...
